A NOTE ON THIS COURSE’S WORLDVIEW:
This course is rooted in a mystical, Indigenous, and animistic perspective that views the Natural World as living, interconnected, and possessing agency. This course asks you to expand your perceptual boundaries, recognize multiple ways of knowing, and engage with a more relational, reciprocal understanding of the world. You are invited to temporarily suspend a purely scientific materialist worldview throughout each lesson and to consider an alternative lens of understanding — one where plants, animals, and landscapes are not inert objects, but living beings with their own intelligence and capacity for communication.
*I am inspired by scholars like Robin Wall Kimmerer who recognize the importance of multiple perspectives, and in this short five minute video I encourage you take in her wisdom before you continue (Video)
